President Rumen Radev congratulated all representatives of the theatrical community and the Bulgarian culture and art on the occasion of the International Theater Day – March 27, the Press Center of the Presidency reported:
“Even in these difficult days for our people, your vital artistic spirit continues to heal our souls, create communities and unite us,” the head of state said in his congratulatory address to the artists, adding: “I believe that we will soon applaud you again. the stage! Even stronger! ”
“Bulgarian theater has never been deserted, even in the most difficult times. Because the spiritual connection between the artist and all those who believe that art is a beacon for our minds and hearts is our moral compass “, says Rumen Radev in his greeting for the International Theater Day.
The President notes that today, in the conditions of restrictions and self-isolation, the vital spiritual connection between the artists and the audience is put to the test. “This provokes our entire society, the state and its institutions to show support for the creative and enlightening spirit.
It is extremely important to really support Bulgarian artists and, in addition to effective social and economic measures, to find ways to preserve our cultural horizon. ”, notes Rumen Radev and recalls the words of Pencho Slaveykov:
“The theater is a higher cultural institute, the highest for the life and artistic word of a nation. “Countries that know what they’re doing know why they’re running the theater.”
