Italian television RAI presented a protocol for holding this year’s edition of the Italian music festival in Sanremo, ADN Kronos agency reported, quoted by BTA.
According to the protocol, the festival will be held without an audience due to the risks of coronavirus infection. The protocol was sent to the Italian Scientific and Technical Committee, which advised the government on the measures to be taken in relation to the coronavirus. By the end of the week, the committee will announce its decision on whether it agrees with the proposed measures.
This year’s edition of the festival will be in the first week of March. The competition program includes 26 performers who will compete for the leading awards of the festival. 8 artists are taking part in the competition for new talents. The host will be the creative director of the festival Amadeus. Naomi Campbell will also appear on the first night.
Due to the coronavirus, several protocols have already been presented by the music companies on the conditions under which the performers will be accommodated in the hotels of Sanremo. It is also planned to set up a red zone around the Ariston Theater, where the festival is held.
There will be no red carpet and the performers will not have fan and journalist meetings.
The newsroom of the festival is also planned to be virtual.
