The beloved Bulgarian actor Julian Vergov was awarded the prize for best actor at the 42nd Cairo International Film Festival, which ended yesterday, according to Art Fest.

He received this recognition for his role in director Pavel Vesnakov’s debut feature film Lessons in German, which started as a project by Sofia Meetings, whose world premiere was in the competition program of one of the most prestigious festivals in the world of cinema.
Winner of the Jameson Award for Best Bulgarian Short Film of 2011 with “Trains”, Pavel Vesnakov has established himself as one of the most talented young Bulgarian directors who accept various challenges and love to experiment, pursuing their dream of making a movie. The Bulgarian audience will have the opportunity to meet his debut feature film “Lessons in German”, which will be presented in the competition program of the 25th Sofia Film Fest in 2021.

The film tells two days of Nikola’s life – a middle-aged man who lost his identity and decided to emigrate from Bulgaria. Also participating are Vasil Banov, Elena Telbis, Stefka Yanorova, Gerasim Georgiev-Gero, Meglena Karalambova, Ivan Nalbantov.
