The International Film Festival in Gothenburg, which is the largest on the Scandinavian peninsula, will pass this year under the sign of isolation under the scheme – one screening – one spectator, TASS reports, quoted by BTA.
Currently, the organizers have announced on their website that they are looking for a movie buff who will spend a week watching movies on a lonely island.
The island with the lighthouse Pater Noster in the North Sea, which is at the top of the archipelago, is one of the most deserted and windswept places in Sweden. The selected lover of cinema will be given the opportunity to enjoy for a whole week the latest achievements in the seventh art. However, he will have to share his impressions of his imprisonment and the films every day.
Similar exclusive screenings for only one spectator will be made in the Scandinavium and Draken cinemas.
This year, the Gothenburg Film Festival will be switched exclusively to digital format, and the audience will have access to all films, premieres and meetings with creative teams on Internet platforms.
The main theme of the festival will be “Social distance – the new world that emerged after the pandemic and the role of cinema in it.” The program of the film forum, which will take place from January 29 to February 8, will be presented on January 12.
